The rain had not stopped, but the crow had found a place to rest.
Its dark feathers carried the weight of weather it could not control. Around it, a circle of gold glowed through the shadows—a small space where the storm did not get to claim everything.
For me, that golden circle represents the boundaries we learn to create around our peace. The moment we stop answering every hurtful word. The evening we allow ourselves to rest without guilt. The quiet decision to step away when staying costs too much.
Sometimes I wish I could protect myself from every disappointment. But my shield cannot promise a life without pain. It reminds me that I can choose what I continue to carry, whose words I welcome, and when I need shelter.
Like this crow, I can fold my wings for a while. I can be watchful and still be gentle with myself. There will be time to fly again.
My Shield is a reminder that our inner world deserves care—even while the world outside remains unsettled.
What helps you protect your peace?
